Where Would It BE?

Trendsettas, whats going on? Hope your one step closer to achieving those dreams. Today as I was in my second home, my 10 by 15 cubicle I was couldn't help by throw on my IPOD and listen to some tunes while I worked with Microsoft Excel pivot tables until I my eyes bled. Drake's latest track, Light Up has been on constant repeat but I decided to switch up my listening vibe. While I scrolled through my IPOD, I was dumb founded by the amount of classic tracks I have on my little MP3. As I listened to various tracks, I started thinking about some of the fallen legends who never made it to see the new millineum, but if they did, i wondered where Hip Hop would be. If greats such as BIG PUN, BIG L, Souljah Slim, EASY E, TUPAC, and Biggie, the face of Hip-Hop will look totally different. I definitely feel like the West would definitely be as powerful as it during the 90's, the Game would have still flourished and who knows what type of music would have be made if TUPAC was still alive. Tupac was the greatest lyricist to touch a mic and make you feel you like had to make a change in your life as well as go out there in this world and make a change. Im pretty sure NWA would have gotten over their differences and made a comeback to really let people know the Wild Wild West was still alive. Now The SOUTH would have still be relevant in the Hip-Hop. Luda, T.I, Nelly, and Jeezy have undeniable talent that would have surfaced regardless on who was alive or not. The South is where the east and west were in the 90's. focused on making music and not beefing with each other. NOW the East Coast would have changed the face of Hip-HOP if Big was still alive. BIGGIE is the greatest STORYTELLER I HAVE EVER HEARD. There is no Lyricist since he graced the mic that has the ability to make you feel as if youre a goon whose about to go in Rob some other drug dealers for their bricks and chips. Niggas Bleed, Warning, Suidicial Thoughts, and I Got a Story To Tell are absolute masterpieces. Niggas Bleed is a song that gives you the feeling on what it feels like not to give a fuck and go after a dude whose making more paper with no remorse. He made it so sound so effortless. You got the feeling like he was your homie and you and him were just chillin and he was telling you this crazy ass story about what he did. Only GOD knows what type of music that man would have made. Now I definitely think that Bad BOY would have been a legendary crew that would have left their mark in the game properly. Biggie was the glue that held them together. Bad Boy had everything. a solid R&B Group in 112. Arugably the best chick in the game in Lil Kim, a R&B queen in Faith Evans, a slick MC in Mase, a gully Rap trio in the LOX. They were stacked and if BIG was alive they probably would have went their separate ways but they would have left their mark. Now Jay, NAS and other MC's who we have grown to love for their style would have definitely been who they are and still would have become legends. BUT B.I.G would have changed the landscape. Now can you picture a Big and JAY track produced in like 2o06. Absolute fire!!!! I feel that Hip Hop has definitely evolved for the better with artists such as YE, Drake and Wayne because we're definitely getting a new sound to Hip HOP. But its just a crazy feeling I get in my stomach when I think about what HIP HOPwould have been if we didnt lose some of the pioneers along the years. They would have not only helped HIP HOP but added more to its rich history. we'll we can only imagine.

Trendsettas, whats going on? I hope all of you have been blessed with good fortune and living out those dreams. We'll I been so occupied with so many things that I haven't been on here in a while. and I promise I will be bringing you at one post every week. Summer is upon us and its the best season of the year. Its the mid point of the year and it provides to you a chance to see if you have been living up to your resolutions that you made about 6 months ago. I have been following on some of my resolutions but I have a long ways to go. But i hope all of you are on your way to achieving and finding your inner peace. Use these next 6 months to find yourself and achieve your goals. We'll with that said Summer wouldnt be the best season without providing us good music to bump in our rides with the windows. It looks like the summer of 2010 will belong to DRAKE and KANYE!!! Thank me Later will and GOOD ASS JOB will be the biggest releases of the year. Drake's newest track with Jay-Z called "Light UP" embodies what HIP-HOP is all about. The beat and the HOOK are absolutely fire. Drake shows he can lyrically hang with one of the greatest ever. Jay proves why he is a LEGEND. He effortlessly bodies the the track and i felt like he did this in one take. Kanye's POWER is just a track with shows all of the public that hate him or love him he is a creative genius and will become a legend. SUMMER 2010 is going to be one to remember. The controverisal show from Adult Swim has returned and its definitely a season worth watching. This will be the last season for the series so You know they will be going out with a BANG!! all off your favorite Characters are back, Huey, Riley, Granddad, Thugnificent, Tom, Jasmine and everyone's favorite Uncle Ruckus. That dude is crazy. LOL. The Season premieres on May 2nd at 10:30. Here's the trailer and what we can expect from the season.

Easter Sunday

Whats going on? I hope my previous post gave some of you a reason to go and do everything that you want in life. We'll today is Easter Sunday. This is the day that Jesus Christ rose from the dead after he was crucified on the cross and took away all of our sins. That's the biggest burden that any man has taken on and he loved us so much that he did that for us. That's how much he loved us. I know we are not perfect individuals and trust me I'm not perfect. But today is the opportunity to show GOD and J.C. that we come to them looking for forgiveness and help. They will help you through whatever problems you may have right now and go them for guidance. I realized that GOD put you, me and everyone on else on this earth to do something special, however its up to us to listen let GOD show us the way. Whatever your dreams and aspirations are GOD knows and he will help you achieve everything you want, just believe, just believe. Always give him thanks and let him see that you appreciate everything that he has given you. Trust me, I feel like everytime I do something wrong I go and ask GOD for forgiveness. But I cant do that and neither can you. He still loves us but he wants us to know when something is wrong not to do it at all and we wont have to ask for his forgiveness. Life is such a long journey but it can very long and unenjoyable if you dont know GOD and Jesus Christ. So Trendsettas, I say go out there and give GOD thanks. I hope all of you have been well. Its already April 2010. They say when you get older and years feel like months, months feel like weeks, Weeks feel like days and Days feel like hours and so on. 2010 has been a good year so far but I haven't been doing everything that I strivied for in the beginning of the year. I haven't been living the way I know that holds true to the person that I want to truly be. Trendsettas, I hope and pray that you been living your lives in a positive way and have been discovering everything unique about yourselves, because each and every one of you have something special to offer this world. In the beginning of the year, I felt like it was a new year and new beginnings for me. But I fell back into certain habits that I know I shouldn't be practicing, I was still thinking such negative thoughts, being fearful and feeling like nothing has changed whatsoever. Today something happened to me and it really made me think about my life and why I need to change my habits, my thinking and generally my life. I went to Subway's today and I said hello to a man that was in there. He was extremely pleasant and we changed hellos. As I went about getting my order and I saw the price of the sandwich I realized the price came up to 1.07. I asked the cashier "what????" and she explained to me the man you said hello just bought your sandwich for you. I turned around, told that man thank you and shook his hand. In this day and age you dont see individuals commit such acts of kindness and now with that small act of kindness it has opened my eyes to see that even the smallest gesture can mean so much to someone. That man bought my sandwich but with that he showed me that by blessing someone whether its big or small IT WILL CHANGE SOMEONE'S LIFE. I sit down and think about my life as whole and realize that with whatever I do in my life, whatever endeavors I may pursue in my life I will bless as many people that I can. In order for me to do that however I must change who I am and look for the truth that will set me free and will allow me to reach my full potential. That TRUTH is believing in GOD and trusting he will help you discover your inner strength. Life is full of choices and you can achieve something great only if you believe in GOD and believe in yourself nothing can stop you from using your inner wings and flying in the sky and allowing yourself to be taken by the winds of life. In my 24 years on this earth, GOD has blessed me with such great things and he allowed me to see what things that I really can flourish in. Basketball, creativity, and other things show me that GOD has made me and everyone else so unique that it is truly wonderous. BUT how will I truly unlock my potential??? BELIEVE, BELIEVE BELIEVE. Never let people's words to stop you from doing what you want in life. Try out for that basketball team, apply for your dream job, go out and start up that clothing company you always wanted and BELIEVE that you can accomplish anything you put your mind to. Trendsettas I will be totally honest will you. I havent been putting the effort that I should have been in trying to make my dreams come true. I havent Been blogging like I should and I just havent been doing what I need to to allow my dreams to come true, but today that changes. I know what I want my future to consist and I realize now that with hard work and trusting GOD I cant lose and neither will you. Trendsettas, GO AFTER your dreams, BELIEVE in GOD, BELIEVE in YOURSELF and Make sure to BLESS as many people as you can. BE FEARLESS and let NO ONE AND NOTHING scare you. ALWAYS be Positive because we can all be great remember that. With that said I know what I need to do to achieve my dreams and I am going to work tirelessly and with faith I know I can have my dreams become reality. Michael Jordan said it best " Our Limitations like our fears are just Illusions." Always remember that my fellow Trendsettas. YOURE GREAT and Greatness lies within you. SO with that I'm doing everything that I want and with GOD's grace upon me I know I will achieve.

Whats good? Here's the P.S.A for this week and its a big one. Those Eggplant foams that you been waiting for will be arriving soon. NIKE is doing us very wrong by releasing all of this footwear, leaving our wallets and purses dry. The Eggplants will be released in March 6th, so you know Ill be up early and ready to get mine. Dirty Cooper Foams Released!!!!!

As you probably already know, the Copper Foamposites were released. I apologize for not updating everyone and letting you know they were scheduled to release today as they were supposed to. Footlocker and Footaction released the sneaker at 12 midnight and people were lining up to get their pair. I bought a pair at a size 12, a little bigger than my normal size, but it was well worth it. These kicks are fire and they are worth every penny that you pay for your penny's LOL. Im pretty sure they will be on EBAY with ridiculous prices. I am contemplating selling mine for $350, but I doubt I will. These sneakers are the biggest release of the year so far. I will definitely be doing a review in the next couple of days.

Trendsettas, whats good??? U ever wonder how other countries around the world dress and what kind of influence they have on Fashion and culture itself? Both Milan and Paris are juggernauts of the fashion world and we can see why. The people of these countries just throw things together and make their outfits unique by showing their individuality. In America we confide ourselves to wearing what everyone may think is hot and we at times all believe it or not have the same swag. The people of Europe I feel go out of their way to try and express themselves through their clothing and make you understand who they are by the clothing that they wear. Here's a couple of pics of just to hopefully open your eyes. Express who you are through clothes. If you like something and its Different, buy it will definitely set you apart from the pack.

JORDAN VI Review

Whats going on? Now the highly anticipated Jordan VI retro was released last week Saturday and I must say I went very early to go pick up a pair. I was expecting this to be a highly sought after sneaker just going based off of the response that this sneaker got when I was a sophomore in HS. A lot of people who call themselves sneaker enthusiasts were very disappointed with the quality with the sneaker. The upper sole is made up of Nubuck material instead of the suede that the 2000 retro had. Alot of heads were upset about the use of Varsity Red instead of the OG color of Infrared. In my opinion it is a very very smooth sneaker. It revitalizes a classic in a new way with new materials and a nice red. Whether you cared for this sneaker or not, you know you bought a pair just for the fact that by next year when others heads missed out you still have a pair on ice that you can sell for 300 to 400 dollars. Im definitely going to recommend these sneakers because of the fact that it brings back a classic. True sneaker heads dont complain about colorways and material, they got out and get sneakers because of the meaning that the sneaker had on the culture and the Jordan VI had a big big impact on helping to establish Jordans as a sneaker not only for basketball but for fashion as well. So big Up to Jordan for giving us this classic once again.

I apologize for the gap between my posts, its a new year so im trying to adjust and switch my whole lifestyle but I promise to post regularly like I used to do. With my first official post of the year, I have the first Public Sneaker Announcement of the New Year for you and its the first of many.

First, THE OG JORDAN VI Black/Varsity Red Colorway is coming out TOMORROW, that's right I said TOMORROW!!!!!!! ALot of sneaker heads are complaning about the quality in which this Retro was made but even though that maybe the case, all sneakerheads will be coppin a pair. I Will definitely be doing a review when I cop my pair. Here are some pics to hold you until tomorrow.

GIVE What you can to the Relief in Haiti

Trendsettas, As we all know, A devasting earthquake hit Haiti last week claiming over 100,000 lives and millions are injured. Some of the images are just heartbreaking. Alot of things that we as Americans take for granted are a necessity over there in Haiti. I have close friends who are haitians and have family members that are over there. They dont know whether their family members are living and its just heartwrenching to know that you have family that is suffering over there and you cant do anything about it. To all of my Haitian readers, i offer my condolences if you have lost any family members and I will pray for family members that you may be still looking for and hope that they are safe. So to all my readers, I Beg you PLEASE GO out and donate something to help ease the pain and suffering that the haitian people are suffering. PLEASE!!!

On this day today Martin Luther King Jr, gave the one of the greatest speeches ever heard History. His legacy and what he died for is why I was able to graduate from college, why i'm able to have a job and why my grandparents and parents were able to come this country and have a better life. I Thank you Dr. King for your sacrifice and for everything that you have done for me and black people across this country. With his sacrifice, DR.King would want us to give to Haiti and give with a whole and kind heart. So God Bless everyone in Haiti and things will get better for you.

2009 in REVIEW

My Fellow Trendsettas,

We are 10 days in 2010. I hope you been keeping true to your resolutions. Remember make this year one to remember and also make it one where you go after your dreams with reckless abandonment. 2009 was a year in which it truly did define this decade. In the beginning of the year we experienced an historic event in American History. Our president Barack Obama was inaugurated to the white house. That event alone is something that my generation and every generation should have been proud to witness. Lets see how he handles our country. The recession hit us hard this year. People losing their jobs, losing their pension plans, not being able to find work. It was a year in which times were hard and people were using resources they never dreamed off in order to make ends meet. We also had a lot of losses this, ranging from sports to entertainment. So as they rest in peace, they will never be forgotten. R.I.P Steve Mcnair, Arturo Gotti, Vernon Forest, Farrah Fawcett, Chris Henry, and The LEGENDARY Man, The KING OF POP, Michael Jackson. Michael Jackson's passing is the biggest one of the decade period. He was so young and it wasn't his time. He is and forever will be the greatest performer ever to grace the face of the earth. While 2009 had its ups and downs, its been a year I will never forget. It was a crazy year for me, especially mentally but as I try to evolve mentally and find out who I am BUT i Promise to change my ways and go after my dreams. Make sure that you do the same my fellow trendsettas.

Trendsettas, Can you believe 2009 is over? I cant believe it. It was a year that i was definitely looking at myself in the mirror alot trying to figure out who I am. There are alot of things that I want to change about myself and thats what I plan to do in 2010. If there are things that you want to change or accomplish in your life, this is the time to start, not later, NOW. Let this be the year that you become the woman or man that you want. Dont let no one stop you from acheiving your dreams and goals because you only have a short time on this earth, use it wisely. Last night was crazy though, I do love the new Year. IN my next post Ima definitely Review 2009 and get out the infamous E.O.T.T. awards. 2009 was the biggest year of the decade. But the decade was definitely one to remember.

2009, Coming to a close oh so soon

Trendsettas, Its been a while. Hope all is well with all of you. I just wanted all of you to think about the year 2009 and how such of a monumental year it was. It was a year filled with promise and wonderful memories and then on the contrary it was year that we had to deal with many downfalls and certainly Big Losses. I'm going to be writing a post on New Year's EVE that will capture how I feel 2009 went for me and all of the good and bad. Tune in for that. and Ill give out my E.O.T.T awards. Back Where he Started his Legacy

Well it seems that A.I. is deciding not to hang up the sneakers for good. He signed with The Sixers today. This is probably the shortest retirement in the history of the league. Philly fans are definitely going to have a reason to sit in the stands again and maybe he can get them to the playoffs and out of the first round. We'll ill be looking to see how this pans out. My man A.I definitely deserved better and I think that he used retirement to stir up some action where a team would eventually sign him. He's gonna be the first tatted six footer in the hall of fame. But shout outs to A.I. for getting a chance to play ball again.

Trendsettas, Its definitely a day of reckoning. Arguably the Best 6'0 to play the game is retiring. Allen Iverson help shape the game since he was drafted with the #1 pick by the Sixers in the 96' draft. Allen had the most heart for such a small dude playing in a league of giants. Everyone knows that when he hit Jordan, everyone was throwing the crossover into their basketball arsenal. We can honestly say that he started the movement of bringing a sense of the hood to the league. NO ONE and I mean no ONE was wearing du-rags, rocking their Chains, and sporting Tats. He helped to show that matter no matter what the circumstances, you can make it if you have the heart. I dont that there will be another small man that can fill his shoes.

Practice, Practice, What are we talking about here, Practice!! We all remember that.

But with that said AI, was one of the most feared players in the league for Years. My man is really retiring after 14 seasons. Everyone is going to make mistakes in Life, but the true challenge is to take responsibility for them. Whether you were wrong for what you did or someone did something to you. Realize we are not perfect, For GOD didn't make us to be. Trust me I have made my share of FUCK-UPS, have hurt people and have lost relationships and friendships in the process. I know that some have forgiven me and some haven't but I do take responsibility for my Mistakes and choices and thats the Key. Some people will forgive you and others wont but that is a part of life. While you will make mistakes and YOU DEFINITELY WILL, DONT LET THEM DEFINE YOU. You know who you are and you know how you deal with people so dont let those few poor choices you make you feel thats who you are and that youre a Bad person, because you arent. So you will make mistakes and big ones, but take responsibility for them and you can get past them because they dont define you.

You know I was ridin in the whip recently and I was thinking about life and how my fears have plagued me into not doing what I what wanted to and express myself how I wanted to. I was talking to the woman that knows me best AKA my moms and her words help me to get through some tough times. She tells me that fear isnt real and that it will hinder you from doing what GOD has planned for your life. I know, youre like getting over your fears is easier said that done but the only way that you can truly experience happiness to its full effect is to get over those fears. No matter what they are, fears are just illusions that can be conquered. You Can overcome them, Whether it be a fear of people, not having money, what people will think and say, YOU CAN OVERCOME THOSE FEARS!!! To help you get through those fears look for help and guidance through GOD. My mom will always tell me to believe and trust him and he wont lead me astray. He surely wont. So take time and think about those fears that have been holding been back and WITH GOD's help you can Overcome them.

LG Fashion Week IN TORONTO REVIEW

Trendsettas, Whats good? Ya boy Trendsetta D was out in Toronto this past week for LG Fashion Week. I decided to volunteer just so i could expose myself to the fashion industry first hand. While i was doing all the tedious work I was making sure to catch shows, whether it was displaying mens or womens clothing. Believe or not there were alot of Female lines with only a few lines displaying mens clothing. The Theme for this year was "Wear Love". Take the time to think about what that means to you. Here is some pics from some of the shows that went down.

Trendsettas!!!!!! IF you haven't done so already, You need to go and get BLUEPRINT 3. This album is living proof that as a Rapper you can have some serious longevity if your music is original and stays true to who you are. The Blueprint 3 is Definitely in my opinion the best album of the year so far with FAB's LOSO's WAY coming in a close second. The reason why i like this album so much is because each song has a different feel to it. Listen to this album from front to back and you'll see Jay-Z hasnt lost his swag and this is proof that he his top five to ever put a pen to a pad. Kingdom Come i really wasnt feeling, i think that he was trying to find a new sound in some of his tracks but it was his first album, American Gangster was a good album but not of the Caliber of music that Jigga was capable of. BLUEPRINT 3 is by far one of his best albums ever made period. From Run this Town, to So Ambitious. this album is definitely a Banger. SO MAKE SURE YOU KEEP THAT EMPIRE STATE OF MIND AND EVERYDAY A STAR IS BORN!!!!!!

9/11/01 A Day to never forget

Trendsettas, whats good. On September 11, 2001, Tragedy stuck The United States and it also stuck the world. Both of the World Trade Towers were destroyed in a horrible attack that left thousands of innocent Civilians dead. Not only did the innocent perish but the brave men and women of service such as the police officers and firefighters on New York City also lost their lives. I was a junior in High School when this happened and i remember smelling the smoke when my school was evacuated in Brooklyn. I can still smell the smoke as a write this post. As Americans we have an Obligation to never forget the innocent lives that were lost. This Day will always be embedded in my life and I thankful for everyday of life because with that incident you realize that life is precious and you never know when your time may come. Thank GOD everyday that you able to walk and talk and see and do the things that you do. To my fellow Trendsettas who may have lost a loved one in those attacks I do send my condolences and tell you to be strong and positive.

When its all said and done and i look back on life, what is the legacy that i would be remembered for. IN life especially in the day and age we see images of fly cars, hot clothes, Fly women and think thats what we need for us to be Happy. While having those things are nice, The thing that should make you happy the most is doing something that u love and at the same time that will allow u to leave a piece of your essence here on earth when you are long gone. At the same token there will be people who will discourage and tell you youre not good, be realistic, you'll never succeed. the thing i would say to that is YOU WILL SUCCEED , just believe in yourself. If there is anything in this world that will hold you back from acheiving your dreams, is negative thinking. Get over those negative and stiffling thoughts and get busy on leaving your legacy. Who Cares what people will think or say about u. That is something that has plagued my whole life. Always thinking that what people said was right and if i didnt get a certain level of attention i was doing something wrong. I been writing this blog for like a week and i dont have followers YET but I been working hard to learn about this blogging thing and i know in due time ill have people who are interested in my blog. I was just thinking about how it is so important to believe yourself all the time no matter what you hear or what people are telling you. My whole life I used people's words as a crutch, always believing what they told me or caring what they thought. It wasnt until I started to believe in myself that I started gaining momentum in certain areas in my life. Its still a work in progress and I am evolving mentally to keep believing and to keep working hard. In life people are going to tell you cant do certain things because you arent smart enough, you dont have enough experience or whatever the case maybe. Its up to you not to believe in them and know that what ever you want in your life you can obtain if youre willing to work hard for it. If you want to be a fashion designer you can do it, if you want to be an actor you can do it, whatever you heart desires you can obtain it. Dont let your fears stop you, dont let people's words stop you because at the end of the day God has given all of us talents and abilities that he wants us to use to flourish and accomplish all our dreams and goals. No matter what life may throw at you know that you have a destiny to fulfill and Always BELIEVE IN YOURSELF because once you do, life will provide you with everything that you hold dear to your heart.

Trendsettas, Whats good? Here's the new collaboration coming from A Bathing Ape. Nigo this time around collaborated with Tetsu “Tet” Nishiyama who is a friend and very well known designer from Japan. He's the creative director of WTAPS. This is a sub line of the Traditional BAPE Line and as as result a whole new logo was formed. Definitely be on the look out for more pieces from this line.

Michael Jackson passed away on June 25th 2009. He was a man that who truly defined the word Trendsetter. He was human and he made mistakes as everyone. When you look at the impact that he had on the world through his music it truly overshadows his slight faults. God blesses this earth with very few individuals that have charisma and talents that will never be replicated. Michael Jackson falls in that category. Evolving from a child prodigy into a entertainer who became a musical icon, Michael Jackson will forever be known was the GREATEST ENTERTAINER EVER TO WALK THE EARTH!
